Oh my god..........

Wondered with the title...... nothing wrong on others side. This time its on my side.........

I will tell you a little story about a boy I came across..........read it carefully.............

He was born and brought up in a village. He spent his kinder garden and primary schooling in a school next to his house. Its time for him to go to High school, which is near by 2KM from his home. He spent all his secondary schooling leading from front of the class. He thinks he is hero himself in the class. He even had a crush(lust) on a girl :-). Of course he didn't do any bad things there, because it is too early age for him to do anything. For his worstness, there are more worst students, in studies, than him. He stood first in VII as well as X class with the second guy being 60 runs far away from his score. He got some memento from the local private school for standing first in X class. He got into the new era of teen age i.e Junior college. He did his intermediate in a town near by his village. Actually his parents desire to see him as a doctor. As he suddenly got into the English medium that too in BiPc, he got vexed up with the subject (may be with english) he stopped going to college for atleast two weeks. Then he changed his subject to Maths, maths teacher wondered and asked "you are the only guy shifting from non-maths to maths subject stream". He continued his XII th as usual in a jovial way. He used to watch all the released movies. No crush on any girls in XII standard. Suddenly in iind year of his course he realized that his future is blank and he decided to appear for EAMCET(engineering, agricultural and medical common entrance test). He joined in the college for coaching and he worked very hard. Finally his desired came to true that he got good rank in EAMCET( when compared to his fellow mates). New era began in his life with the admission into Engg. college. As he is staying away from his home town first time, initially he felt unhappy, but later the things settled down. One thing I observed till now in him is he will always try to be first in every aspect of his life. If he is not first he will slowly pick up to that position. In initial days of my first year he was bit shy and reserved from others. As I said he slowly he geared to the first position in the class. One he thing that is very happy to him is "when his class mates clapped him as he is walking on to take the Physics answer sheet of some exam in which he stood first in the class". The other that embarrassed him is that he is scolded by a girl (not exactly). This guy has an habit of falling in love (or lust) whenever he finds a special case in the girls. So he fell in crush with a girl of the same class without saying it to her for long time( 3 yrs).
His room mates used to tease him in this regard in the hostel. He was so shy that even he wont talk with his fellow class mates, then how can he talk with his crush(??). Any way his crush fell in love with some other guy who is his friend. This guy keep on watching them for a period of three years. In academics he stood college first in 2nd year 1st sem, due to ill ness he coudnt do well in his 2nd sem. Again he stood first in 3rd year 1st sem, and second in 3nd sem. Fourth a tragedy event happened, which made his crush to talk with this guy. Soon they became close friends. Till that time he is the hero of that class (as he thinks). as usual that girl being a frnd asked him abt his lover, without hesitating replied back saying "I am loving you from past three years". That girl fell in love with this guy (shifted duty from other guy). This has taken them to even stay alone with her in her room. Being tempted to new things in the "new era" (teen) age they committed. ...................to be continued

Covalent Bonds..........................

Are your relations with others are like Covalent Bond.??
Or more stronger than that..............:-)
I suggest you to make them as Ionic bonds, because covalent bonds are harder to break than ionic bond. But you can not break some of the bonds that you have by default like ......with parents and your other family members. I request not to make covalent bonds with any one of your close friends or girl friends especially with lover..................... .

It is my way of thinking. its upto you to decide..........have a nice time.......................

Bye..........

Century on his way.............

It is not in a match. It is in his life. Let me congratulate first "Mister Dependale" Rahul Sharad Dravid for reaching the 100 tests milestone. BCCI has announced that he will be the team captain till the end of WCup 2007. It shows his importance to the team like India. I am not an ardent fan of Dravid, Of course anyone's. But still loves his play, sometimes I scolded whenever I saw him playing very defensively. I am an ardent fan of Cricket not the individual players. If I remember exactly I was into the Cricket when 1996 Worldcup is going on (India, Pakistan, Srilanka). I remember the incidents like Kenya beating WestIndis, Pakistan lost to India (Quarter final), and India losing its match to Srilanka (semi final). I am 13 year old boy having gr8 enthu towards cricket. Cricket in my life is a big history. We ( me, my two brothers) used to go everywhere in around my village to play cricket. I used to watch all the games which they played. I have not given a chance to play I am newbie to the cricket. Eventhough my elder brother1 didn't succeed in cricket, the other could able make it. When I got the chance to play for the team, its time for me to join Engg. College. I didn't stop playing cricket even there. I used to take of my thirsty till this time playing for School team (representing class wise), and some other matches(friendly in Jr. college). If I remember exactly I played for my village team and hitted 3 or 4 fours consecutively, but ending in a lost. Engg. college life has no exception for my cricket life. Except the change in representation (here Dept. wise). The most rivalry team for my Dept (CSE) is ECE. Most of the times we won the match, except the final year annual day match which we lost, very miserable moment. Hmmmmm now its time to play cricket in IITM. There is a saying that "Wherever you go you will make kind of friendship with likely minded people". I found the cricketers in Cauvery hostel @IITM. I represented cauvery two times in Inter-hostel Cricket tournament, but won none of them. The happiest thing in these matches is that I played in a International Standard Pitch (Chemplast Stadium) at IITM.
I am very much delighted to play in that ground. But the saddest thing is I didnt get bowling in two matches that I played except I was limited to only fielding which I enjoyed doing in that ground.

Hope still I have enthu in playing cricket here after despite of some ........................

Another Heart touching story ........

Another heart touching story...........

Think of the cruelty of his wife..................

Thought provoking story..............

Have you ever heard of a story that is different and thought provoking..............

See this......if you are "gult" then you can read this...........

It is adapted from Telugu news Daily "Eenadu" .........

Motivation is Different

To quote a excerpt from rediff...............

British daily drew parallels between Al-Qaeda and Infosys as.............

"While both were run by individuals, had global operations and required intelligence, the difference lay in motivation. One was engaged in terrorist activities, the other in constructive activities. "

So, motivation should be right one........

Love and Desire

and

This is a talk given by Prof Krishna at IITM as part of reflections group talks on 15th march. He has explained love and desire in a decent way. Some of the excerpts that I have listened to (with some cat naps in between) are given below.

  • Wishes are innocent.
  • Desire = wish + ego
  • Different meanings or kinds of love
    • I love to have coffee in the evenings
    • I love the way tendulkar plays sweep shots
    • The soldier died in the borders because he loves his country
    • Mother loves his children
    • Boy/Girl loving Girl/Boy
  • How to love your work without expecting anything from it?
I didnt remembered exactly the things, but his talk is well received by the students and the some of the faculty members attended. He replied well for the queries after the talk by students. "If you desire something that means you are narrowing your self" is one sentence quoted by Prof Krishna.

Critique a Research Paper

* Part A. Briefly identify the key contributions of the paper.
  • What research problem does it try to solve?
  • Why is it an important problem?
  • What's the proposed approach?
    * Part B. Try to find if there is any problem in the paper.
  • Any problems in the assumptions?
  • Any technical shortcomings, problems, or errors?
  • Any problems in the experiments? Do the experimental results support the original claim?
    * Part C. Any idea for improvement?
This can be the most challenging part.

M.S (by Research) in IITs - Part 1

This is for those who are keen in getting into the prestigious institute like IIT Madras for pursuing M.S (by research). First I will let you know recruitment process. First and the foremost thing is you should be a GATE qualified candidate. The cut-off percentile differs from year to year. Notification will be announced around starting of march every year. Applications can be downloaded from websites. Note that M.S (by research) is offered by only two IITs (IITMadras, IITDelhi). Application along with the DD of around Rs 250/- is to be submitted either personally or by post. The call for exam and/or interview varies every year for each department. They also look for the percentage of your undergraduate (B.Tech, B.E etc). They will intimate for exam/interview in the month April/may. Second and the most common thing is What is the pattern of Exam? What sort of difficulties in the questions?. Usually the exam pattern is multiple choice questions and the questions are as good as GATE questions. They may straight away give you some questions from OLD GATE Papers. Criteria for selecting for the interview is based on "exam score" as well as "B.Tech percentage". GATE score has nothing to do now. Usually this is they will select fifty percent of the total for the interview. The most tough part of M.S recruitment is the interview. Facing IIT Professors (for the first time) is like going for an adventurous voyage. The toughness of interview depends on the choice of research area you specify in the application form. If you are lucky enough (like me) you will be asked to choose yourself the subject that you prepared and they will ask questions only in that subject. Don't forget to go through your under graduate project one more time before coming to exam/interview. They will ask some questions from your project also. The more depth you go in answering the more impression you get and also bonus questions !!!!. If you are good enough in getting through the questions and also if the requirement for that particular Prof is there, there are more chances in getting into IIT. You will get the intimation letter in the month of July or so (but before August). thats it abt the recruitment process into IITs for M.S (by research).

PS: 1.The cut off GATE percentile varies from 90% to 99% again depending on the department.
2.The details furnished above are to the best of my knowledge ( as I got through the same recruitment process).
3. It is not compulsory that both IITs and all departments follow the same process.

This week........

Nothing new this week. Chalta...... I thought I could communicate my idea to ACM Sensys or Middleware 2006 conferences so that I can get good comments (event though I know comments!!!!). I am working hard (not much !!!) on this. Now a days the daily routines have been changed from this Monday (6/03/06). Waking up at 9am and going to bed at 12am, playing cricket from 4 pm to 6-30pm. We have inter hostel cricket tournament match this coming Sunday. Coming to paper that I am writing, I completed all the unnecessary part required for the paper (intro, related work, basic concepts, references) except the core idea. Now I am struggling for the "clarity" of core idea. I hope things will set right by this week end .... hoping so......Actually last Saturday (04/03/06) Appu came from hyderabad, we went to "hotel" in the night. Raj gave seminar on that Saturday. Actually last Saturday after the review meeting is over, he told we will meet and discuss next Monday (27/02/06), but he didn't. But he calls to enquire for other stupid things except for research work. Ok, any way we should not criticize him, but he has the responsibility isn't it.?? Bujji also started writing paper this week...............hope we will communicate for the forthcoming conferences................
