Operation Theater Number - 5

2-ooPM on Monday 24/12/2007, Room no-520A, attender came with stretcher, though I can walk it seems it is their formality to take the patients to OT (operation theatre) on stretcher. The attender had made sure that I don't have any other clothes (inner) except the shirt and pant given by the hospital and asked me to lie down on stretcher, files piled up next to me moved to second floor from fifth floor. People are looking at me, when I am shifting from fifth floor to second floor, I can see some sympathy in their eyes. And the stretcher entered into pre-operated room.

Scene:Pre-operated room

The moment we entered into the room, I could see the environment is changing (?). Attenders in pre-operated room verified that I am so and so and for so and so operation. They have worn me a operation cap to my head. Jr. Doctor came and kept some drops in my nose saying it will reduce bleeding :( .There after I was asked to lie down on another bed with woollen blanket being covered so as to avoid shivering from A/C. Mean while two or three new patients have come to the room. Jr. Doctors/Doctors were roaming around that room to see which OT is free and who has to be operated first and where to operated?. Finally at 3-00PM, my Doctor slot has come, it seems he has fought a lot to accommodate me for the operation :). Once again on to the stretcher, moving towards OT. It is OT5.

Scene:Operation room

Hmm...... I could see the operating room now. I was more curious to observe the OT, as I was on stretcher and more than ten people around me, I could not watch anything except the doctors. Finally I am on HOT seat sorry bed. Doctor had asked me, is your problem related to nose-blocking? That put me in disguised mood. Before I come to normal position, Jr doctors had removed my shirt and kept some wires connected to my body. On the other hand BP measurement system showing reading 130/90. One of the Jr doctor told me that, take a deep breath now you will go to deep sleep.............. and they are last words I have heard in the operation room.

Scene:Post-operated room

Some one calling me 'adi, adi, adi, can you hear me.................' (you know your name is the sweetest one to you, wherever you are you will respond to that.......) I could barely open my eyes, and she is asking how much is this showing one finger. I could answer it properly. They have left me confirming that I am back to normal position after anestia has been given. After some time I could see fuming heat on my face and opened my eyes, it was heater on my head. Immediately asked for its shutdown. Then I could sense some wires running around my neck, and they are ECG wires. As the post-operated room is getting full, I was thrown out of the room to again 520A. While I was moving out of the post-operated room to my room, I really needed sympathy from people who are looking at me.

Happy Days with Chak De India

Its been a month since I jotted down in this blog. "Happy Days" and "Chak De India" dragged me to write this blog. They are movies, that I watched recently. One is in Telugu (mother tongue) and the other in Hindi (national language). Both of them need big applaud from audience and the whole crew deserves it.

"Happy Days", a sekhar kammula film. It is his fourth movie and all of them are heart touching and close to real life in some way. This film story is all about engineering students life. From the first year to till they graduate out from the college. Ragging, lecturers, friends, seniors what not everything is shown in three hour film. Hats off to Sekhar...... At some moment I felt that movie is realistic and I was a character in that movie...It touched my heart... and stays forever there....
Hie previous movies are Dollar Dream$, Anand, and Godavari. I have seen all of them except the first one. Which I hope I would see it some time.

Since I don't know much about Hindi film base, I would talk less about crew and more about movie. "Chak De India", is I would say sports, and patriotic movie. It gives a glimpse of the "Indian Women's Hockey Association" status in lucid way. The politics, sponsors, myths, no team spirit what not every element is shown in movie. On one hand, it was like watching Hockey match watching in theaters on other hand, it was like watching a movie with patriotism together with status of India National game.

One year to go for Silver Jubilee Celebrations..........(25 yrs)

It's been 756 864 000 seconds since my mother gave birth to me on this holy earth. I don't know exactly how many seconds I spent in sleeping, studying, njoying, and etc.......(don't ask me!!). I have been celebrating this b'day since my birth (obviously !!!).

My parents used to get new clothes on the occasion of every b'day in the early days. Early morning I used to have head bath, pray GOD (don't remember wht?) and get blessings from parents. I used to distribute the chocolates to my class mates in the school.(till 1997)

All this recurred till I get out of my schooling. In +2, I used to have all above mentioned things except distributing chocolates (Chocolates are not sufficient to College age!!!). (1998,1999)

Then comes my engineering phase..... 1st year.. celebrated in home. I don't exactly remember about 2nd and 3rd years and I am very much remembered the final year b'day. Because it is very special to me and celebrated in grand manner.....(2000,2001, 2002, 2003)

Getting into
IITM gave me a new birth on this earth (thts how Indians feel and its true !!!). It added variety to my birthday celebrations. First bday was not actually celebrated with my IITM friends rather with my girlfriend (which I feel bad now!!). Second bday at IIT, new friends and new environment and missing old friends, but their wishes are always there with me (that made me to enter IITM and its my (their) dream to see myself (adi aka malli) in IITM). Third bday was as exciting as second bday with new set of friends added to the old friends.........(2004,2005,2006).

And now, 2007, in Bangalore. Though there are many friends in and around the city, I celebrated it only with my room mate. New environment, no new friends, not much of excitement, busy life .........

Am I getting older???.......NO.........I am getting younger day by day and on.....................

Evolution of Web Design

I am completely changed and I am growing exponentially guess who am I??........You spend lot of time with me everyday!!!!!!! Didn't get yet........I am your dearest web..........since my birth to Internet........people have been relying more on me these days than the olden days.......and so my evolution..........

Following is my evolution stages in simple understandable form...........

The Evolution of Modern Web Design
Year Coding style
19991999 - The Nightmare The Nightmare: A jumble of content, scripting and formatting information
20022002 - The Improvement The Advance: Formatting (CSS) is separated, but content (HTML) and scripting (e.g. JavaScript like 'onclick') are still tightly interwoven.
20052005 - Modern Web Design arrives The Future is Now: Behavior (JS), formatting (CSS) and content (HTML) are easily managed from entirely separate files.

One Week !!!!

This post truly reveals the IT professionals day-to-day life in a week. I wondered when people forwarded some mails about how IT professional life looks like in a week. They typically start with Monday and ends on Friday, weekend follows. As a IT professional, I would like to put the same thing in different way. I will start it with Wednesday, since it is in the mid of week (2days from weekend and 2days to weekend) its a neutral day, as we have cherished moments of weekend and eagerly waiting for the next weekend. Thursday, one day to go. Friday, weekend begins from the afternoon :). Monday morning hangout of weekend ;). Tuesday, sad day. Again it continues............................................... So Start with Wednesday............................

A true IT Professional :)

I wondered once, when people said you dont find time once you get into IT industry. At that time, I thought it was not true. Now you can see this blog how much I am busy after I joined into infosys. No time to blog, orkut, chat, browse........etc.

It is not because I didn't find time, it is because my company will not allow me to do them in the office hours ;)

Infosys Vs MorgaStanley

Bit tough to answer this question. It is also incomparable sometimes. These are all with respect to my context and my opinion.

  • ------- Infosys ----------- Morgan Stanley
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  1. Pay ------- Less-----------More
  2. Relocation- No relocation---amount Rs.80,000
  3. Location--- Bangalore-------Mumbai
  4. Work------ Same at IITM--Finance domain/Technologies
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I have chosen the last points as advantage to me and joined Infosys.
Its been a month that I joined SETLabs, Infosys, Bangalore as a Junior Research Associate. Rush starts at 6AM and ends at 7PM daily on week days. Weekends going either to native or to IITM. It took a month to get the formalities done at IITMadras and I am still waiting for the relieving letter. Things are quite settled now and I am planning to settle myself. Our mind always thinks ahead of us and looks for what it wants, even though they may not be satisfied practically..... The following question is unanswered till now.. "Joining Infosys leaving MorganStanely".

That was my stupidity to say eureka in the last post. Some things are worthless if they end normally or so easily. Lets come to point, who is responsible for what, I guess everyone....It should be otherwise....we cant keep blaming others..before that we should blame ourself.............confused.............Hmmm this is what I wanted you to be.................... :).

Eurekaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

Do you know why people say Eureka? when they are in high spirits. I am done here..........I am happy .............

Things are not as they shoould be :)

At least few of them I have complete from the list I have given here. Rough draft of the thesis is out. Work is communicated to one conference and one journal. Now all set me to relieve from the institute, which is not easy though. One more meeting is still pending. Got some other offer (which I have not mentioned any where in the blog) apart from Morgan Stanley. I was fixed to choose one from the other, but again in dilemma which one to opt. Other thing, I have committed myself to some other work whose results are unpredicted for the next one month. Hoping to get done things in smooth fashion without any risks.

ABC of AJAX

AJAX stands for Asynchronous JavaScript And XML.

AJAX is a type of programming made popular in 2005 by Google (with Google Suggest).

AJAX is not a new programming language, but a new way to use existing standards.

With AJAX you can create better, faster, and more user-friendly web applications.

AJAX is based on JavaScript and HTTP requests.

Look at the AJAX examples:

RSS - What is all the Fuss About?

RSS Stands for Really Simple Syndication. It is used for the specific purpose or conveying information that a website or blog has been updated. It is a standard for publishing regular updates to web-based content. And for the technical, RSS is a Syndication Standard based on a type of XML file that resides on an Internet server. It answers the question "What's New?" for a website or blog.

We can find RSS feeds on almost every website that is updated very frequently. The following logo is almost standard to indicate RSS feed.

Here is a Perl Module to create, read RSS feeds.
For Web masters
You can create RSS feeds for your websites in simple way. You can do it either automatically by a program or manually creating adhering to RSS file format.
More information can be found at the following links:
  1. http://www.rss-specifications.com/steps-create-rss.htm
  2. http://www.rapidfeeds.com/
  3. http://www.feedyes.com
Test your RSS against a validator to make sure it's well-formed XML.
For the End User
If you are an end user, and wants to read the RSS feed available on the net, you can do it so by using feed reader. Feed readers can be either web based or stand alone applications. The following are the webbased applications to read RSS feeds.
The following are the standalone applications that can run on your desktop
Ok lets not get into the geeky world of downloading installing ..blah..blah......blah....So you are a naive user......you can find sites that aggregates the RSS feeds from different sites in different categories..............You can search for desired RSS feeds in the following websites.

ABC of Web 2.0

Buzz word of geeks in the modern era of technology. I happened to read book on web2.0 while downloading e-Book. It is not a single technology like .NET or Java. It is collection of technologies to give a beautiful look to Web and be able to create rich applications. The following are the three layers that constitute the Web2.0
  1. Social Layer
  2. Architectural Layer
  3. Technical Layer
  1. Socal Layer: The social layer of Web 2.0 is about making the Web a read/write web again. For some, this goal is motivated by philanthropic or political reasons: everyone should be able to express his or her ideas. For others, the motivation is financial: if the growth of the number of web readers is deemed to slow down, the growth of the Web can only be fueled by the growth of the number of people that create content on the Web. The business models of Web 2.0 sites differ on the way to convert content into actual revenues, but they share the fact that their content is created by their users, and this is the most distinctive characteristic of a Web 2.0 site.
  2. Architectural Layer: The ability of using the Web as a platform can be seen as the architectural layer of web2.0. This is the consequence of the Social Layer; if you want to give write access to all your users you can’t rely on anything that isn’t installed (or installable) on any platform they might be using. That limits the prerequisite for Web 2.0 applications to a relatively recent version of a web browser. Furthermore, due to most needed security constraints, web applications have very limited access to files and data stored ontheir users’ computers. That means that Web 2.0 applications have not much alternative to considering that the platform on which they run is the Web! This has made Web2.0 to deliver everything throught browser (Web). Examples of them are Google Docs, Live Office, YouOS etc...
  3. Technical Layer: This layer of web2.0 decides the richness of your application on the web. This layer mainly consists of three parts. First thing is about client side programming, nothing but the browser where most of your web applications are visible. The second part is nothing but the underlying protocols that makes it possible to communicate with the others on the web. The third part is the server side processing, ultiamately this is where client requests are processed :). HTML, XHTML, DHTML, CSS, Javascript and AJAX constitute first part of the technical layer in web2.0. SOAP, REST, HTTP-PUT are second part of technical layer. Creating webservices, mashups, serving XML over HTTP etc constitute third part of technical layer of web2.0.
This is just an overview of what I understood about Web2.0.

Health ... different ways of looking within....

Health as we know, is of utmost important for any creature on this earth, without which one can't survive easily. Today I heard across the different kinds of health that a creature can possess (at least human beings). They are:
  1. Spiritual Health
  2. Mental Health
  3. Physical Health
Spiritual(ity) Health is something that indicates the health of your soul. Spiritual health can be affected with or without a reason. Mental Health on the other hand is caused by the emotions or feel on something. This depends on ones spiritual health as well. Physical health as you all know is seen by everyone. This show the status of your physical body. Running nose, stomach pain, fracture etc are some of the examples. Love failure, scolded by someone, etc are the example of mental health. I don't know the examples of spiritual health. I guess even we can't identify them.

Among these three, spiritual health decides most of your health status. From top to bottom, the above order shows the importance that once should give.

Keep your self out of danger, with a clear and unsound soul.............. :)

Who is your *****?

Hmmm.......... this is the one that you should have got addicted to answer by now here. What the hell that they have to do with *****, when we are talking about something else. There are lot many scenarios, that reminds me about this question during my stay here. Hmm what not from security guard to the attender, from CCW chairman to Dean Students, whomever you meet on any issue without that is really connected in any way to ***** will end up with the above question.
  • I have been to CCW office on the issue of having excessive mess bill for a month, I happened to meet chairman, he ended up asking this question (which is not at all related).
  • Went to ICSR to collect friends cheque on behalf of me. It got delayed for more than week. I asked the reason for the delay. Thts it again same question...........
  • Went to DS office on the issue that my friend parked his bike, when he is leaving to home in the hostel premises. Security locked it and sent us to there.........again the same question......
  • ..............(will get back to you soon)
Anyway why should one bother about *****, when the issues are not actually related. GOD knows.............

If you happen to read this, and you have faced this.........plz don't forget to mail me.......... :)

Mera number abhi nahi aayega.... :(

Yes, things in the pat few days signed me about this. After my entry on this topic, things have changed rapidly signing for me that my number is not in near future. I am struggling hard to get one. Oh my GOD save me from this !!!!!.........

Cricket - Yet Another Religion of India

Cricket has become YAR of India like Hinduism, Muslim, Christianity etc. People pray the cricketers as GODs. With India's early exit from the World Cup 2007, hope things may get changed after this. India's F1 racer, Narayan karthkeyan, on his speech @ IITM answers for a question says 'cricket has become religion in India. even though they crib them now, if they win a tournament again it is going to be settle down'. He also says cricket has brought everything with it in advertising. Yes this is correct. If the team India wins a trophy in the coming tournaments, people will again start praying them. This is common for cricket fans, even the cricket players themselves don't care about the early exit from the CUP 2007.

Let me share my personal views on this. I am playing cricket from my 6th standard. I represented my school, my college and to my hostel here as well at IIT Madras. There was a match between CSE and ECE for the college annual day function in B.Tech. What happened was we have lost that final match to ECE. This was because, we didn't play well and things have gone bad in every aspect of it. Then I decided not to play cricket ever in my life. But then, as I said (?) human tendency is different. So, I started playing cricket even at IITM. Hmmm and the worst part is here......... I played for Cauvery Hostel in 2005 as well as 2006, both of them we lost. Third time in 2007 (I was off to Mumbai), again lost to the B.Tech guys. In spite of all these defeats, as a player (or a fan) one would think not to play (watch) again cricket. It is impossible.......................................

So what I am trying to say, in spite of the early exit from the world cup.....people still adore the team after couple of months again........... that's the funny part of this life.......................

Mera number kab aayega ??

Thats Hindi for "When am I gonna get my chance .. ... ?". The case here is graduating from IITM............
We joined together, we were together almost for two and half years, before actually one of us left. We were under same guidance....we are same peeks...........in fact one of them is with me from last 6 1/2 years before he joined in software firm in december 2006.......now leaving me alone one more soul left to join in the company next week.........SO
Mera number kab aayega ??

Where we meet before we leave ........

ADIEU 2007, is a farewell party given by the institute to all outgoing students. It is sponsored by IITM alumni association (IITMAA). This time class of 70, 71 and 72 sponsored the function. Even though it started 4pm none of the graduands actually go there, because they don't want to listen to the speakers. So I am. Arrived ICSR auditorium at around 6PM, nice video made by the students welcomed me into the auditorium. It followed with speech of Subhiksha director (alumnus of IITM). Director, Dean (students) followed him........... We were asked to move to OAT for dinner (the most important thing :)). We have to prove ourself that we are actually leaving IIT at the entrance and finally got the grub coupons.

After having starter (so called), my eyes felt on the color of IITM gals. Even before I take a moment from that, there was a huge rush at the food counters. We were managed to get some where in the middle of one queue. Then again started having glance on the 'color' of the evening. Parallel to the dinner, some cultural events were progressing, which I think none of them have had time to glance them. After the sumptuous food (catered by Eden Restaurant) , it time for DJ on the dais.

Hmmmm.....IITM gals have just given a glimpse of what actually they are with their, middies, frocks, sarees, sleeveless.......what not ........ Two eyes or not enough to glance 'them'. .......... Had good time in dancing, even though not sync with the actual songs played. Phani has become photographer of the evening capturing every moment that good evening...............finally pains in the legs, eyes filled with colors, sweating on the body...........thats all left.....at the end of it....

And the funny thing is for research scholars, which it is anyway common for them. Most of them dont know whether they leave IITM this year or next year, bcoz thats how it is.

This event happened on March 25th, 2007.........

Ctrl+Z in life

Having used to computers from past 7 years, I just had a thought in my mind. How about having a UNDO (CTRL+Z) in our life. We can even have REDO (CTRL+R) if wanted to get back again into the original action. There are lot many that BRAHMA has to think if he has to provide these two actions. The first thing is whether he should provide this to every creature on this earth or only to human beings. Second things is, since we all measure our actions with respect to TIME, he has to think how much time or how many actions that he has to provide to revert back or to redo. For example it can be a minute, an hour, a day, a month, or a year. It can also be last action, last two actions, last three and so on. Third is bit interesting, giving an option to the creature to decide upon the UNDO and REDO actions, still BRAHMA holding the control on it.

Think about it..............I think you, your friend or some one else that you encounter in your life may think about this at least once in their life...........................

Revert back to my birth, to change the place where I born
Revert back to my childhood, to shape my life
Revert back to my adolescence age, to correct my life

Friday, March 9, 2007

Hmm........After a gap of month you might expect lot of changes in a human being (at least ) in me. Things have not gone smoothly. I have become more crazy to do unnecessary things. Being a Social Secretary for the hostel, I have some responsibilities to do. I took charge of unnecessary things and proceeded in doing them. I am spending almost all of my time in that. I have become a busy bee.......without grabbing honey from the flowers. I have gone home for two days to 'relax' myself.

Last week.........

Hey,

Wish you all very Happy new year. This is my first blog entry in the new year apart from the last two blog entries. Things have changed rapidly in the last two weeks. I sent my paper for review, wrote synopsis, and almost done with my thesis.

My ideas about my future are changing rapidly, planing to work for few months in some other company before joining Morgan Stanley. I am planning to IITM by the end of march. This kind of decisions are very few in my life. :)

Let me see how it goes..............???

Recently I have been to Bangalore to make an acquaintance with a gal. Spent there two days. Had nice dinner party with all my BTech friends.
